LightCycler® 480 Real-Time PCR System

Roche Applied Science's QPCR technology in 96- or 384-well formats is now available at BIOGEM.

The LightCycler® 480 Real-Time PCR System is a high throughput gene quantification or genotyping real-time PCR platform with exchangeable blocks for 96 and 384 samples in multiwell plates. It offers high throughput, cost savings through reduced reagent volumes and speed in that it permits a 348 PCR run in 40 minutes.

The applications that are possible (and will be brought online as BIOGEM services) using this platform include

absolute copy number transcript quantification,
relative transcript expression profiling
dual-color assays with hydrolysis probes and an internal control
high-throughput SNP analysis of multiple SNPs on one 384-well multiwell plate
high-throughput haplotyping of adjacent SNPs
differentiation of SNPs by high resolution melting.
